Jabber is an instant messaging service provided by Maiznet to the users. It permites a simple and efficient communication with other Maiz users, Maiznet adminstrators, but also with Maiz's administration. So as to use it, you will need your Register ID and a client software.

Pidgin

Many softwares can manage a Jabber access, however we will only be interested in Pidgin, who can be downloaded on Pidgin's website.

To access the Jabber service, launch Pidgin, then in "Accounts > Manage Accounts", choose "Add". The settings are:

Other Chat client

If you chose to use another client (there are many of them, such as Coccinella, Spark, or Gajim...), please make sure to enter the right settings:

• Protocol: XMPP or Jabber
• Domain: jabber.maiznet.fr
• Username/ Password: your register ID
• If there are no "Domain" box available, write "username@jabber.maiznet.fr" in the "Username" box (using your own Register ID instead of "username")

At last, save your changes. You are now connected to Maiz's Jabber!
